How did Martha Washington convince the soldiers to stay at their posts during the freezing winters of the Revolutionary War?

The freezing starving troops at Valley Forge threatened to leave their posts if conditions didn’t improve. To keep them hanging on, Martha Washington repaired their clothes, cooked for them, nursed their wounds, and prayed with them. She did this during each of the long years of the Revolutionary War, keeping her husband — General George Washington — company during uncomfortable, and often dangerous winters.
