Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library

Medora, ND

The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library opened on July 4, 2026, in Medora, North Dakota, nestled into the Badlands. Rather than a traditional archive, the institution features an AI-powered “living library” that reconstructs Roosevelt’s writings and allows visitors to interact with a lifelike version of the 26th president. The design by architectural firm Snøhetta blends seamlessly into the prairie landscape, featuring a grass-covered living roof, narrative and adventure galleries, and a mile-long boardwalk offering scenic views of the North Dakota Badlands and Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
